The Governors are an integral part of the school and work closely with staff and parents to ensure that Ysgol Bodfari is a thriving and successful school. The Governors are appointed in several ways: eg, by the LEA or to represent teaching staff and parents. Some governors are co-opted by the Governing Body for their areas of expertise.
The Governing Body shares responsibility for:
- Delivery of the curriculum
- Care and safety of the children and staff
- Appointment of staff
- Management of the budget
- Maintenance of the buildings
The full Governing Body meets at least three times a year and its work is continued in various committees. The Governors produce an annual report which outlines the previous years’ work. This is presented to parents in the Autumn term and parents will be given the opportunity to put questions to the Governors on the work of the school if they wish. Governors play an active role in day-to-day management and regularly visit the school.
